Ireland for Kids: Audio Stories, Culture, Printables & Recipes

Meet a real leprechaun in Ireland with Seamus

Seamus loves the old stories and legends of Ireland, but he never thought they might be true until he met Nate, an exiled leprechaun with a cruel rival named Old Jimmy. In four original audio stories, your family will help Seamus and Nate race across Ireland to save the town’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration (without Seamus ending up two inches tall), then follow the clues in a mysterious, unfinished book called The Potato Fairy. Each story is about 30 minutes and made for kids ages 5–11. This Ireland country set also includes 7 printables, two recipes and a full country guide.

The Lone Leprechaun Part 1

Seamus’ town is caught up in leprechaun frenzy. Things are disappearing, being mixed up and moved around — and a lot of people are blaming the leprechauns. Seamus never has believed in the magical little men, that is until he meets one in person. But Nate the leprechaun doesn’t have any wishes to give because all his powers have been taken away. Can Seamus help him get his leprechaun powers back?

The Lone Leprechaun: Part 2

Seamus and Nate play a trick to get Nate’s magical powers back, but it backfires. In class, Nate tries to help Seamus a couple times to repay his kindness, but it almost ends up getting Seamus in big trouble. Meanwhile, the preparations for the St. Patrick’s Day festival are a disaster, with Old Jimmy and his leprechaun friends ruining everything. Can Nate stop Old Jimmy without getting his powers back first?

The Lone Leprechaun: Part 3

The St. Patrick’s Day race is on! Nate and Old Jimmy speed across the country at the lightning speed of a leprechaun, stopping to fulfill some tasks along the way at a couple of Ireland’s most famous castles. But Jimmy is a very powerful leprechaun, and he’ll use his magic to stop Nate from winning if he has to. The stakes are high, as Seamus may have to spend the rest of his life two inches tall!

The Potato Fairy

When Seamus’ father discovers a new and curiously unfinished book on Seamus’ shelf called the Potato Fairy, Seamus has trouble getting it out of his mind. Maybe it’s the red bird that visits his window, or maybe the new girl in school. Whatever it is, something is drawing Seamus into the actual story, and it may be up to him to find a happy ending — not just for the story, but for the Potato Fairy herself.

Exploring Ireland

Find out where leprechaun legends really come from, what St. Patrick’s Day celebrates (and why blue, not green, was St. Patrick’s first color), and why 400,000 people a year kiss the Blarney Stone. This part of the country guide also explores Ireland with a map and tells the story of the potato in Ireland.

Did you know? The first leprechaun legends dressed them in red jackets and red pointed hats, not green.

“My boys (ages 6 and 9) LOVE Around the World Stories! They ask each week if we’ve received our new story, and they ask to re-listen to their favorite stories… that’s when I knew this was something special.”
