Nepal for Kids: Audio Stories, Culture, Printables & Recipes

Explore Nepal with Santosh

Santosh is a 10-year-old who lives at the foot of the tallest mountains in the world, where his father is a legendary Sherpa mountain guide. Everyone in Nepal has heard stories of the Yeti, but Santosh never imagined he’d meet one. In four original audio stories, your family will follow him up the mountain to prove the Yeti is real, get to know the gentle Spag-Yeti and discover the strange power the Yeti leaves him with: he can suddenly appear anywhere in the world. Each story is about 30 minutes and made for kids ages 5–11. This Nepal country set also includes 10 printables, two recipes and a full country guide.

Yeti, Set, Go!

Santosh, a 10-year-old boy from Nepal, wishes that the legend of the Yeti — the Abominable Snowman — was true. And he wants to be the one to prove that the white hairy beast actually exists. When three men come to town determined to find the monster, Santosh decides he can’t wait any longer. But his search may bring him to places he’d never expected.

Yeti, Set, Go!: Part 2

Santosh is carried into a cave and realizes that it was indeed the Yeti who had saved him from his fall. Will Santosh still follow through with his plans to take the Yeti’s photo once he gets to know him? And if not, will he be able to protect the Yeti from the other men that are after him?

Yeti, Set, Go!: Part 3

Santosh realizes that Spag-Yeti has vanished, but he soon finds out why. Will the climbers make it to the top without having Spag-Yeti’s photo taken? Will the white-haired man ever stop his search? Will Spag-Yeti ever be free to roam the mountain again?

The Disappearing Sherpa

Santosh finds that his experience with the magical Yeti has left him with a strange power – the ability to transport himself anywhere in the world. There are just two problems — he can’t control when it happens and nobody believes him. Can an encounter with the Dalai Lama help?

Exploring Nepal

Nepal is a small country between China and India with the greatest change in altitude on Earth, from sea level to the top of Mount Everest. This part of the country guide explores Nepal with maps, Mount Everest and the climbers who reach its peak, the Sherpa people known as the Guardians of the Himalayas, and Nepal’s flag, the only national flag in the world that isn’t a rectangle.
