No matter how hard he tries, Sergei always seems to end up in impossible situations. In four original audio stories, your family will find out what happens when he accidentally boards a fighter plane, chase an enchanted chess knight through the streets of Moscow and help his mom enter a contest to design a new statue for the park. Sergei is struggling to figure out what he can do for his country for the big holiday – Defender of the Fatherland Day. Everyone else seems to have thought of something. Is it possible that Sergei could stumble into something that helps his country more than he ever imagined?
When Sergei and his friend Michael discover an enchanted chess table in the woods, a friendly game of chess turns into something nobody could have ever expected. The boys are left chasing down an actual knight who’s causing trouble while searching for his lost king.
After chasing the Black Knight all over town, Sergei and Michael finally track him down and try to help him get home to his world inside the game of chess. But for Sergei, returning the knight home may be the riskiest game of all.
Sergei’s town is replacing the old statue in the park with something new, and there is a contest to find the best statue design. Sergei tells his mother that she should enter the contest because she’s a great artist. But if she does, will she be able to come up with a winning idea?
Russia is the biggest country in the world, but is it really as big as it looks on the map? This part of the country guide explains why flat maps stretch the countries near the poles, and shares what makes Russia stand out, from the first human in space to the coldest town on Earth.
Did you know? In 1961, Russian pilot Yuri Gagarin became the first human to travel into space.
